Sunday in South Dade: The Berry Farm Stays Open Until 9, Pinecrest Market Is Back and Deering Estate Talks Family Lore
Halloween is over and the fall calendar is still full. Sunday brings an extended-hours farm festival in the Redland, a morning farmers market in Pinecrest and a free afternoon talk in Palmetto Bay on separating family legend from the record.

Fall fun is not finished just because Halloween is over. The Berry Farm's Harvest Festival continues through November 15, and Sunday, November 1 is a special extended-hours date: the farm is open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Visitors can explore its five-acre corn maze, pumpkin patch, sunflower fields, farm attractions and hayrides at 13720 SW 216th Street in the Redland, with general admission listed at $14 to $23 and food and certain extras sold separately.
For a slower start, Pinecrest Gardens hosts its farmers market from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with locally grown produce, flowers, food and handmade goods from small vendors, plus a free community yoga class from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The gardens are at 11000 Red Road in Pinecrest - a simple stop for fresh groceries and a chance to support growers and small businesses from across South Florida.
The afternoon option is quieter still. Deering Estate hosts 'Discussing Facts and Family Lore' on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at its Visitor Center Theater, where genealogy expert Lorrie Chupina Martin will talk about using historical records to separate facts from family legends. The event is free, but an Eventbrite RSVP is required, and the estate is at 16701 SW 72nd Avenue in Palmetto Bay.
Two practical notes ride with the day. Tickets for the farm festival are final and the festival runs rain or shine, so Sunday's conditions are worth a check before the drive - a Flood Watch is in effect in Miami-Dade and this desk's weather file carries the morning numbers. And the clocks changed overnight: sunset now arrives an hour earlier by the clock, which matters for an afternoon farm visit, a long drive home, or any outdoor plan that used to end in daylight.
