Check the Halloween tickets. The winning Powerball numbers for Saturday, October 31 were 2, 4, 18, 50 and 56, with a red Powerball of 20 and a Power Play multiplier of 3x, according to Parade, USA Today and the NorthJersey and Detroit Free Press lottery reports, all read by this desk this morning and in agreement on every number.
No ticket matched all six numbers, Parade reported at 1:50 a.m. Sunday. Saturday's drawing had offered an estimated $760 million jackpot, with a cash value of $325.7 million. The jackpot was last won on August 12, when a ticket sold in Illinois claimed an estimated $1.04 billion prize.
The roll sends the prize higher for Monday. The Powerball jackpot dashboard read this morning, verified at 5:00 a.m. ET against powerball.com, puts Monday's estimated jackpot at $793 million, with a cash value of about $340 million; Parade's overnight estimate of roughly $800 million is the same roll, rounded. The odds of matching all five white balls plus the Powerball are 1 in 292,201,338.
The next drawing is Monday, November 2 at 10:59 p.m. ET. Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee - the one Florida address at the center of a national game, and the reason a Miami ticket-holder's Monday night runs through the state capital.
