Surfside's Community Center Pool Stays Cool While Its Heater Waits for a New Circuit Board
Surfside's main pool will hold between 74 and 77 degrees until a replacement circuit board arrives — and residents can swim free at the Miami Shores pool in the meantime.

The heater for the main pool at the Surfside Community Center has not been switched on for the cooler season because of a maintenance issue, the Town of Surfside said in its weekly digest on Friday. Until the heater is fixed, the town expects the pool water to stay between 74 and 77 degrees.
In a follow-up notice on Friday, the town said a gas leak affecting the main pool heater has been resolved, but testing found a damaged circuit board that must be replaced. The town expects the part to be installed by Monday or Tuesday and said it is working with the vendor to speed up the repair.
In the meantime, Surfside residents can swim at the Miami Shores pool at no charge, through a partnership with Miami Shores. A reservation is required, the town's notice said. Questions about the Community Center pool go to the Community Center, per the same notice.
