Dolphins-Patriots Sunday Morning Injury Report: Brents and Taylor Questionable, Proctor and Three Patriots Out

Four names are settled and four are not. Miami's secondary holds the morning's open questions, New England is already down three players, and the inactive lists before the 4:25 p.m. kickoff are the only document that finishes this story.

Dolphins-Patriots Sunday Morning Injury Report: Brents and Taylor Questionable, Proctor and Three Patriots Out (Miami Watch News)

Miami's last injury questions against New England sit exactly where a defense can least spare them: in the secondary. Cornerbacks JuJu Brents and Reese Taylor carry questionable designations into Sunday, according to the Dolphins' official injury report as reviewed in Athlon Sports' Sunday morning file, read in full by this desk. Brents is listed with neck and concussion issues and Taylor with a quadriceps injury, and both finished the week as full practice participants - though whether either is at full speed is, in that file's words, yet to be determined.

The settled names are settled. Dolphins guard and tackle Kadyn Proctor will not play because of a concussion - he missed all three practices in the protocol - and New England lists receiver A.J. Brown, running back TreVeyon Henderson and tackle Marcus Bryant as out, a status the Patriots confirmed in a Saturday downgrade after all three had carried lesser designations earlier in the week. Brown's issues are ankle and knee; Henderson's is an illness.

New England has two open questions of its own: cornerback Carlton Davis III, with a neck injury, and linebacker Christian Elliss, with a chest injury, are both questionable after full participation throughout the practice week. If either is unavailable, Miami could face changes in the Patriots' coverage or linebacker rotation, the Athlon file notes - and Brown's confirmed absence is the one break Miami's questionable secondary catches either way.

Everyone else on Miami's practice report carries no game-status designation, which is not the same as a clean bill of health. Quarterback Malik Willis and running back Jaylen Wright practiced fully throughout the week, while receiver Malik Washington and tight end Greg Dulcich progressed from limited participation to full participation on Friday. The pregame inactive lists, due before the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff at Hard Rock Stadium, determine the availability of the questionable players on both teams - until then, questionable means exactly that.
