Dolphins Turn to Jarrett Kingston at Left Guard Against the Patriots With Kadyn Proctor Out
Rookie left guard Kadyn Proctor is out with a concussion. His place against New England on Sunday goes to Jarrett Kingston, a waiver claim who filled in well against Cincinnati - and who now makes the start Miami's struggling line needed to sort out.

Miami's offensive line change for Sunday is set. With rookie left guard Kadyn Proctor out because of a concussion, Jarrett Kingston is expected to fill in against the New England Patriots at Hard Rock Stadium, according to Dolphins Wire's report read by this desk this morning. It will be Kingston's second appearance of the season.
Kingston arrived the way depth linemen usually do - claimed off waivers at the start of the season. He entered the league as a sixth-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2024 and is 26 years old. His one previous outing this year is the reason for the confidence: he played well on the right side while filling in for Jonah Savaiinaea against the Cincinnati Bengals, a performance Dolphins Wire said gave head coach Jeff Hafley confidence in him heading into this division game.
The context is not forgiving. Proctor, a first-round pick, entered the concussion protocol earlier in the week and was ruled out, the Dolphins' official preview confirmed. Cornerback JuJu Brents was also in the protocol, returned to practice Thursday and is questionable. Miami's line was already the pressure point of a 1-5 start built on short drives - the preview file for this game put the Dolphins' offense at under 57 plays a game - and Sunday's fill-in starts opposite a Patriots front in a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff on CBS.
Kingston's audition is also an audition for the depth chart. A clean afternoon against New England would give Miami a proven second option inside for the season's second half; a rough one would leave the line's injury problem exactly where Proctor's concussion put it.
