Sunny Isles Beach Precinct 002 Votes at Gateway Park on Election Day, One of 19 Miami-Dade Precincts Moving
Voters assigned to St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Sunny Isles Beach will cast Election Day ballots at Gateway Park, 151 Sunny Isles Blvd., instead - one of 19 Miami-Dade precincts temporarily moving for Tuesday's general election, the county says.

One group of Sunny Isles Beach voters has a new place to go on Tuesday. Voters in precinct 002 will cast Election Day ballots at Gateway Park, 151 Sunny Isles Blvd., instead of their usual polling place at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, the Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections office announced, in a change reported Saturday by Red Sidewalks and CBS News Miami.
Precinct 002 is one of 19 precincts countywide that are temporarily moving for the Tuesday, November 3, general election, according to the county's October 30 release. Gateway Park is a familiar address in the neighborhood's voting geography: it was listed as the polling place for neighboring precinct 004 on the county's most recent published general election list, from 2022. St. Mary Magdalen sits at 17775 N. Bay Road.
The county's release does not give a reason for each individual move. It says facility construction, scheduling conflicts and other circumstances made some sites unavailable, and notes that the elections office does not own or run the buildings it uses as polling places. Signs have been posted at the old locations, and affected voters were notified, the county said.
The rules that matter on the day: Election Day voters must vote at their assigned precinct - unlike early voting, there is no any-site option on Tuesday. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and anyone in line by 7 p.m. can vote. Voters can check their assigned polling place in the lookup at votemiamidade.gov, where the county says the updated location appears automatically. Early voting, for anyone who would rather not wait, continues through Sunday, November 1, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 28 sites countywide.
