Miami Monday Weather: The Showers Are Back — Code 81 Again, and Election Day's Rain Chance Is Up to 60

The drizzle downgrade lasted one cycle. Monday is a showers day again (code 81) with a cooler 71.2 low, and Tuesday's voting hours now carry the wettest numbers of the week.

Miami Monday Weather: The Showers Are Back — Code 81 Again, and Election Day's Rain Chance Is Up to 60 (Miami Watch News)

Miami's forecast has swung back. The station's live Open-Meteo feed read 76 degrees overnight, feeling like 80.4 under a mainly clear sky (code 1), but Monday's day code is showers (code 81) again — reversing the drizzle (code 53) in the 01:25 file — with a high of 82.2, a low of 71.2, more than two and a half degrees cooler than the last file's 73.8, and a rain chance of 39 percent, down from 56. It is the kind of Monday where the rain is likelier in bursts than in a washout, but it is rain.

Election Day is where the week's weather concentrates. Tuesday keeps rain showers (code 82) and its precipitation chance has climbed to 60 percent, the highest of the seven days, with a high of 81.1 and a low of 73.1. Voters heading to assigned precincts between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. should plan on a wet trip at some point in the day, and the heaviest cells in a code-82 pattern tend to arrive with little warning.

Behind the election the week dries out in stages: Wednesday carries drizzle (code 53) at 53 percent with a high of 83.1, Thursday and Friday settle to light drizzle codes (51) at 25 and 8 percent with highs of 83.0 and 85.2, and the weekend runs 80.7 on Saturday and 82.3 under an overcast Sunday (code 3). The pattern is a wet front half built around the vote, then a warm, mostly dry back half.
