Miami Monday Weather: The Showers Eased to Drizzle — 82.2 Degrees, a Warm 73.8 Low, and Election Day Still Wet

Miami's overnight feed softened Monday: drizzle (code 53) instead of showers, a low of 73.8 instead of 71.5, rain chance 56 percent. Tuesday — Election Day — did not soften: code 82 showers at 55 percent across the voting hours.

Miami Monday Weather: The Showers Eased to Drizzle — 82.2 Degrees, a Warm 73.8 Low, and Election Day Still Wet (Miami Watch News)

Miami starts its Monday quieter than Sunday ended. The station's live Open-Meteo feed read 75.6 degrees in the overnight hours, feeling like 80.8 under an overcast sky (code 3), and the day ahead has been revised down a grade: Monday now carries drizzle (code 53) rather than the showers (code 81) in Sunday evening's files, with a high of 82.2, a low of 73.8 — more than two degrees warmer than the 71.5 in the last file — and a rain chance of 56 percent. It is a grey, warm, damp Monday rather than a wet one.

The revision stops at Monday. Election Day Tuesday still carries the week's heaviest weather code, rain showers (code 82), at a 55 percent precipitation chance, with a high nudged up to 81.1 and a low of 71.6 — rain possible across the whole 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. voting window, on ground that has been rained on since Sunday morning, in a county whose early voters already voted through a wet weekend. Voters in the 19 precincts voting at temporary locations on Tuesday get the week's least convenient combination: an unfamiliar building and a wet trip to it.

After Tuesday the week unwinds on schedule. Wednesday eases to code 80 at 83.1 degrees and a 48 percent chance, Thursday dries to 23 percent at 83.0, and Friday is again the week's warmest and driest day — 85.2 degrees on a rain chance of just 6 percent, a full ten degrees of low-temperature spread from Monday night's 73.8 to the midweek lows near 78. The flood-watch weekend is over; what is left is a drizzle, an election, and then the dry-out.
