Miami Midday Weather: 77 Degrees Under the Flood Watch, With Monday Turning to Showers and Tuesday Holding the Thunderstorms (Miami Watch News)

Miami's Sunday has cooled as the rain pattern settles in. The temperature stood at 77 degrees late Sunday morning, feeling like 82.6 under overcast skies, according to the station's live Open-Meteo feed, with the day's high now expected to reach only 79.5 and the low 70.7. Sunday's weather code is 81, rain showers, and the precipitation chance has climbed to 65 percent - the wettest read of the day so far, inside the Flood Watch window that runs through Monday afternoon.

The bigger change is in the shape of the week. Monday, which earlier outlooks carried as a thunderstorm day, now reads code 82 - rain showers - with a high of just 76.6, a low of 73.8 and a 62 percent rain chance: a gray, wet day, but a step down in intensity. The thunderstorms have moved to Tuesday instead: code 95, a high of 82.5 and the same 62 percent precipitation chance, on Election Day.

After that the week dries and warms in stages. Wednesday stays showery at code 80 with a 41 percent rain chance and a high of 81.8, Thursday turns to drizzle at 22 percent with the high back up to 86.3, and by Friday the feed is nearly clear - code 1, a high of 86.7 and a rain chance of just 9 percent. The practical read for Sunday: the Flood Watch conditions are arriving as forecast, the afternoon and evening carry the day's best rain chance, and Monday's commute looks wettest in the morning showers rather than in storms.
