Miami Midday Weather: 81 Degrees, and Election Day's Rain Chance Fell Again — to 35 Percent (Miami Watch News)

Miami's midday is warm, bright between clouds and, by the standards of this weekend, calm. The station's live Open-Meteo feed read 81.3 degrees late this morning, feeling like 86.2, under a mostly cloudy sky (code 2), with Monday itself now classified overcast (code 3) at a high of 81.5, a low of 75.3 and a rain chance of 36 percent. The number that matters is tomorrow's. Election Day's rain chance has now fallen in three consecutive files — from 60 percent on Sunday's calls, to 43 in this morning's file, to 35 percent at midday — with Tuesday holding an overcast code, a high of 81.0 and a low of 75.1.

Two honest frames sit side by side, and voters should hold both. Locally, the feed says most Election Day trips to the polls will be dry, under grey skies rather than rain. Statewide, FOX Weather's Monday file keeps a Level 1 out of 4 flash flood risk over the coast from the Space Coast to Miami on Tuesday, on ground saturated by Sunday and Monday's rounds — a risk about where the heaviest band lands, not a promise that it lands on any given precinct. An umbrella in the car covers both versions of Tuesday.

Behind Election Day, the week dries and warms in steps. Wednesday is the wettest remaining day on the feed — light drizzle (code 51) at 43 percent, high 82.7 — before Thursday's drizzle chance falls to 18, Friday turns overcast and nearly dry at 4 percent, and the weekend reaches the week's highs: 84.1 on Saturday and 84.3 on Sunday. The rain story that dominated the weekend is ending the way Miami rain stories usually do — not with a front, but with the percentages quietly giving up.
