ELECTION 2026 — ELECTION DAY EVE

No Voting in Miami-Dade on Monday: Election Day Is Tuesday, at Your Assigned Precinct, 7 A.M. to 7 P.M.

Early voting closed Sunday night. Monday is the gap day — no ballots can be cast anywhere in the county — and on Tuesday the rules change: your assigned precinct, not any site, and a mail ballot counts only if it reaches Elections Headquarters or the Downtown branch by 7 p.m.

No Voting in Miami-Dade on Monday: Election Day Is Tuesday, at Your Assigned Precinct, 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. (Miami Watch News)

After two weeks of early voting at 28 sites, Miami-Dade County has a quiet Monday: there is no voting anywhere in the county on November 2. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. — and the Election Day rules are stricter than the early-voting rules voters have used since October 19.

The biggest change is place. Early voters could use any of the county's 28 sites; on Tuesday, every voter must vote at the assigned precinct polling place listed on their voter information card — Miami-Dade runs 767 precincts — and a ballot cast at the wrong precinct does not count the same way. Anyone in line by 7 p.m. is entitled to vote. Voters unsure of their precinct can check at votemiamidade.gov before Tuesday morning rather than at a closed door on Tuesday night.

Mail ballots have their own hard edge. A vote-by-mail ballot must be RECEIVED by the Supervisor of Elections by 7 p.m. on Tuesday — postmarks do not count, and return postage is prepaid for this countywide election. On Election Day, a completed mail ballot can be returned only to Elections Headquarters in Doral, at 2700 NW 87th Avenue, or to the Downtown Branch Office at the Stephen P. Clark Government Center. It cannot be dropped off at an Election Day polling place. A voter who still has a mail ballot and would rather vote in person can do so at their precinct, once poll workers confirm the mail ballot has not already been received.

The county closed early voting Sunday with 485,722 ballots already cast in Miami-Dade, as this desk reported in the final early count. Tuesday decides the rest — at assigned precincts, between 7 and 7, with the mail-ballot clock ending at the same hour.
