Lincoln Road Halloween Tonight: Cross Streets Closed From 4 P.M. for Miami Beach's Block Party
Miami Beach's biggest Halloween night runs on a closed grid: every Lincoln Road cross street shut at 4 p.m., kids' trick-or-treating from 5:30 to 7:30, then the block party - live band, performers and DJs - until 1 a.m.

Drivers heading to South Beach tonight should plan around Lincoln Road, not through it. For the annual Lincoln Road Halloween Block Party, road closures took effect Saturday at 4 p.m.: all of Lincoln Road's north-south cross streets - Lenox, Michigan, Jefferson, Meridian, Euclid, Pennsylvania and Drexel avenues - are closed between Lincoln Lane South and Lincoln Lane North, according to the City of Miami Beach's Halloween guide.
The evening runs in two shifts. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. it belongs to the kids: trick-or-treating along the promenade with candy stations, face painting and costumed characters, while supplies last. At 8 p.m. the adult block party takes over - a live band, performers and DJs until 1 a.m., with Wonderama live at Lenox Avenue from 9 p.m. to midnight, per the city and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau's listing.
For drivers, the practical route is the garage, not the grid: the city-operated 17th Street Garage, with 1,460 spaces, is open 24 hours and sits a short walk from the promenade. Expect the streets around the closure box - 16th and 17th Streets and the causeway approaches - to carry the displaced traffic all evening, on a night when Halloween crowds, boat-show traffic and the last night of the free-ride sober-driving offers are all on the same roads.
