Last Day to Vote Early in Miami-Dade: Sunday Is the Final Chance at 28 Sites
Early voting ends Sunday, November 1, at 7 p.m. in Miami-Dade County. Any registered voter can still use any of the county's 28 early voting sites today - on Tuesday, that choice narrows to one assigned precinct.

Sunday is the last day. Early voting for the November 3 general election ends Sunday, November 1, at 7 p.m. across Miami-Dade County, closing a run that began October 19 at 28 sites open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to the Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections. One timing note for the final day: clocks fell back one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday as daylight saving time ended, so the 7 a.m. opening and the 7 p.m. close run on the new standard time.
The rule that makes Sunday valuable is the any-site rule. During early voting, a registered Miami-Dade voter may cast a ballot at any early voting site in the county, regardless of assigned precinct - the library, campus or government center nearest to wherever the day takes them. That flexibility ends Sunday night. On Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and each voter must vote at their assigned precinct only, one of the county's 767 precincts voting at 516 polling locations.
Mail ballots have their own Sunday option. Every early voting site has a secure intake station where a completed vote-by-mail ballot can be dropped off during voting hours, the elections office says. After Sunday, the window narrows sharply: a mail ballot must be received - not just postmarked - by 7 p.m. on Election Day, and on Election Day itself it can be returned only to Elections Headquarters in Doral or the Downtown Branch Office, not at a polling place.
Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia has urged voters throughout the season to settle their plan before the deadline rather than after it. Sunday's choice is the simple version of that advice: any of 28 sites, until 7 p.m., with a sample ballot worth reviewing first - the ballot carries a governor's race, three state constitutional amendments, six county charter questions and a school-tax renewal, and it changes by address. Voters can confirm their registration, their Election Day precinct and their nearest early voting site at votemiamidade.gov.
