Florida Early Vote Reaches 5,153,389 Ballots - Already Matching All of 2022 With a Day Still to Run
The On Point Politics tracker, built from state election office counts, put Florida at 5,153,389 ballots cast through October 31 - 3,257,540 in person and 1,895,849 by mail - equal to the state's entire 2022 early vote before Sunday's final day in Miami-Dade and the other extending counties.

Florida's early vote has already matched the state's entire 2022 midterm early vote, with a day still to run in the counties that extended it. The On Point Politics Florida tracker, built from state election office counts via civicAPI and read by this desk overnight, put the total through Saturday, October 31, at 5,153,389 ballots: 3,257,540 cast in person and 1,895,849 returned by mail. The tracker noted that is 100 percent of the 5.06 million early ballots cast in all of 2022, at a pace about 15 percent ahead.
By party registration, registered Republicans cast 40.7 percent of the ballots and registered Democrats 37.6 percent, with the rest cast by voters registered with minor parties or no party. Registration describes who has participated; it does not show how any voter marked a ballot, and it cannot determine the outcome of any race.
Most of Florida's mandatory early voting period ended Saturday, but Miami-Dade, Broward, Duval and several other counties run through Sunday, November 1 - in Miami-Dade, 28 sites are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and any registered county voter may use any site. After Sunday, a vote-by-mail ballot can still be returned at Elections Headquarters in Doral or the downtown branch office, and it must be received by 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3.
Election Day itself is Tuesday, when Miami-Dade voters must vote at their assigned precinct, polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Statewide, FOX 13 noted Florida has about 13.7 million registered voters, so roughly two in five had already cast a ballot before the final early voting day began.
